Just thought I should at least state so, but if you’ve been following with me on this site, I haven’t posted in quite a while. Due to my personal life at the moment, I have been very busy, and had to deal with many things happening. However, I still do intend to get back to posting soon!!

People who have just found this site, or came across it for the first time, I hope my blog interests you and can keep you checking here for new artists and such.

First, or at least one of the first thoughts many people will have, having heard the name or seeing the album cover is… “What is Fest doing?!”

I will admit, I was intrigued, not knowing what to expect.

Well let me help you, he’s just compiled (with the help of the one & only Mark Ronson) one of the most unpredictably ingenious yet hilarious, innovative mix tapes you will ever play to your ears.

With 24 Tracks, 6 being labelled skits (but actually more), you sit there listening to track after track loving Rhymefest more and more. He hasn’t gone for the predictable; get a few MJ hitters such as Billie Jean, Thriller, and then flip a rap on top… No, this guy has gone straight back to the Old School! Pure Archives. Tracks you have either forgotten about, didn’t even know about, or just even didn’t expect him to bring back.

And it works, it works too well! You finish every track wanting, waiting to listen to the next track. Every skit leaves you not knowing what to expect on the next skit to come. These skits are great, and will leave you howling with laughter. They definitely keep the flow to the mix tape running.

I really don’t want to give away what these skits consist of or even say what tracks are what… because this mix tape is best listened to, not knowing what to expect.

I assure you, if it’s not the tracks that have you amazed, the skits will definitely have you loving the project.

So if you haven’t already heard or own it, go to his store and download it. Because seriously, sooner or later, they are going to realise how awesome a mix tape it is, then release it as an album with a price!!

At the age of 13, you expect a singer to hold his producer or a similar figure’s hands and be lead the way into the music scene.

In this case, Trumaine has been holding his own hands and following his own footsteps and shadows for 11 years. Writer, arranger and producer of all his songs (excluding his mix tape), the game Trumaine is bringing to the scene is at an evolved mature level.

Unsigned at the moment but getting to know producers, Trumaine is now working on an EP. Having done a mix tape already and a few shows with more to come (January 21 & February 1), Trumiane is definitely heading the right direction to prominence.

With a harmonic singing voice, he has you mesmerised with his enunciation, and drawn into every song’s story. From deep songs portraying ended relationships due to mutual disloyalty and misunderstandings, to clever ingeniously written songs explaining lovers’ interactions through mobile phones, (seriously… totally ingenious!)

I really feel like nowadays, soul artists are middle-aged and have had to settle down over some time. Whereas the young artists are all into their commercial R&B, which don’t get me wrong, I love. There’s nothing wrong with Chris Brown, Trey Songz, Omarion, and similar young artists. It just that in my eyes, Trumaine Lamar has potential to be different and ripe soulfully at a young age, which would be very interesting to see.

With passion and complete effort put into every song he’s putting together, you cannot help but only listen and think he has so much potential. Check out his mix tape labelled “The Scenario” through the following link, and check him out on his MySpace.

Basically I think I should start by saying what I intend this blog to be about. Im a real down to earth guy with a deep love and passion for music! All genres really, but I would choose true Soul & true Hip-Hop anyday.

Anyhow I can’t stand how these true artists that have talent and meaning, don’t get their time and appreciation. Like (in my eyes) look at the fair amount of struggle, MCs like Common & Lupe Fiasco have had to go through to get their songs heard. Where we hear artists like 50 Cent and Mase pulling out tracks about “Window Shopping” and “Piggy Banks” and are actually getting recognition for it!!

So I intend to actually do something… ok, I’m going to be realistic… Im not going to have such a huge impact, I don’t think that by saying “listen to this artist!!” one day, they’re going to soar up in the charts the next week!! But some impact and action is better than none! Lol.

So what I have in mind is to preach about these struggling MCs, singers and even DJs (if I come across any). I know quite a few artists that aren’t commonly heard of like Jay-Z & P.Diddy at the moment BUT they deserve to at least be recognised for their determination and more importantly, sheer talent!

And that’s really what the blog is going to be about.

A Bit About Me……

I’m Mohamed, but I go by many many different names, Monkey Mo, Mosin, Mosef, etc. The list goes on, BUT most commonly, Mo!

I have the most complicated connection with countries/nationality. Basically I was born in Saudi Arabia, and my mum is Turkish with some Sudanese blood, and my dad is Egyptian with some Sudanese blood. Both are Sudanese citizens, so therefore I have a Sudanese Nationality like them. But lived in England for a long time. BUT Blood-wise, I have a bit of Egyptian/Sudanese/Turkish blood.

So… I’m “connected” to the following countries: Egypt, England, Saudi Arabia, Sudan and Turkey. Awesome, right? No? Complicated? Totally agree!! Lol!

I’m 21, I have naturally different coloured eyes (weird but cool), and carry many other strange characteristics. (I’m just typing what’s coming to my mind at this moment really.)

I love just having a good time, and respect family & friends (hard to believe, they’re actually important… lol… love them to bits!). I truly believe that a Man is nothing without a Woman, so I respect women as much as I respect myself, if not more. I carry various opinions to quite a few issues in life. But I like to just kick back & laugh (a lot!!)… Think for tomorrow, but live for the moment.

Academically, I’m studying first year, Electrical & Electronic Engineering at Tees-Side University in UK. And live in a small town called Middlesbrough. Dump of a town, but still love it!

O ye, I also forgot to say… I LOVE TO DANCE!! With a passion!! I dance anytime AND anywhere!! The picture shows me caught in the act, well sorta, I was chilling/dancing at that moment.
